Information Bonne Chance restaurant
Bázakerettye, a village of barely a thousand residents is an ideal place to hide from the world, and although it’s a bit further away from Lake Balaton, it’s a nice detour to take if we’re already in the area. A narrow-gauge railway that visits seven villages operates here, and it will take you to the Budafa Arboretum; the tiny restaurant and hotel of Zala is also here, on the edge of hundreds of acres of a forest. The owner of Bonne Chance restaurant has a goal no less than to only use locally sourced ingredients. They use their own herbs, and the pickled goods on the tables were fermented in barrels. We dare to say that the best fried meat of the country is made here near the Austrian border, but their yogurt and homemade pickles soup is also a revelation, just like the rethought local sweet treat, the Zala-bar.
