Our historical restaurant opened its doors in 2012 at the dawn of the Hungarian gastronomical revolution. During our short break- in the autumn of 2020, Budapest Bistro underwent a complete interior and image facelift. The name Bistro- Csárda represents our new take on traditional Hungarian dishes blended with a fine dining experience.
We find it our mission to present and serve traditional, decadent Hungarian dishes to our guests.
Legendary Goulash! Hungary is well known for this internationally famous soup. Its flavors embody everything our restaurant represents.
The Budapest Bisztró- which seats over 120 people- is located in the immediate vicinity of the Parliament on the picturesque Vécsey Street. Whether you are planning a family event or gathering of friends the modern yet Csárda atmospheric restaurant, is the perfect choice for you.
We proudly own one of the largest terraces on our street front, in the city center. Not only the restaurant but the terrace itself can accommodate over 100 people. On our modern equipped terrace, guests have the opportunity to enjoy an al fresco dining experience even in winter, with homemade meals served in traditional cast iron pots. Hot soup guaranteed!
Our professionally excellent team has many years of experience in organizing large-scale events. Thanks to our roomy spaces and a wide range of dishes your imagination is the only limit.
The talented and professionally recognized Chef Elek Richard is a three-time Bocuse D’or finalist, which is the most prestigious cooking competitions in the world. In addition, he won 2nd place in the Chain Des Rotisseurs World Organisation, organized by the Hungarian Association. He was also awarded a silver medal at the final of the WACS Global Chef Challenge in Prague. Last but not least he received 10th place at the Thessaloniki World finals, beating 14 nominated countries.
Next to our traditional styled a’la carte menu, we will also have a „Chef’s offer”. We arrange our offers based on seasonal ingredients and the variations of Hungarian traditions.
The Bisztró has won the Best of Budapest award every year since 2012. This award is only given to service providers who maintain consistency and high-quality service. Furthermore, each year we have won the Trip Advisor Travelers’ Choice award. This is the highest level of recognition of the platform, which can only be achieved by the top 10% of service providers.
